Hi I’m Heidi, and I started my business by accident.

What I mean by "accident" is, I was naturally so passionate about creating positive people experiences through leadership development, as well as bringing awareness to and repairing toxic cultures, that people started seeking me out to help them. I was so focused on others that I didn't realize the reputation I built for myself. 

The opportunities that came my way felt like I was living in a dream. For example, the AAUW sponsored me to attend a national women's leadership conference where I networked with and learned from the most powerful women in congress, business and throughout the world.

I was elected president for a local Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) chapter and soon after took on a role as a leadership coach for students at Babson College (the #1 entrepreneur school in the U.S.)!

Startups, small businesses and massive corporations began to approach me for my expertise not only in human resources but to help them increase their visibility to build brand awareness. They wanted to know my secret of how I was able to build the go-to reputation in such a short amount of time.

I became so immersed in helping people transform their stories into powerful personal stories because I saw potential in them that they didn't yet see. Group owners from Meetup events started reaching out asking me to speak at their events which then turned into local organizations, universities and then I began to go global.

During this time, I decided to take the leap and move from Boston to South Korea. It was there, I started expanding my writing outside of personal blogging and decided to start pitching and writing for publications. My writing exploded almost overnight and I was soon signing my contract with Forbes (click to read my Forbes column) to become a paid contributor (hello, life goal!).

It didn't take me long to start building my reputation across South Korea. I built a community of women from all over Asia and held in-person events, where I helped women build their confidence as well as their personal brand through online visibility. I taught them how to speak up for themselves, own their story, negotiate, recognize their value and build authentic leadership. Just like my writing, my coaching business also took off.

My journey wasn't easy but my passion for what I do is what's kept me going despite the adversity I faced along the way. The confidence I have today, I wasn't born with. It was through toxic relationships and friendships, being bullied by my HR boss and women in tech, shying away from difficult conversations, not standing up for myself, losing out on opportunities because I didn't believe in myself and a variety of other situations. Everything I learned and gained along the way is the foundation in which I built my brand that has made me a sought after coach, consultant, speaker and writer.

I've helped hundreds of women destroy their insecurities and build their confidence, coached individuals on building a global business and gaining international exposure, creating stronger relationships and creating cultures and attractive employee experiences across global offices. Despite what I do and who I help, confidence is the foundation of what I coach, consult, train, speak and write about.

Oh, and when I'm not working (which, it might seem like never), I'm giving back to my community as an advocate for domestic violence survivors. You can also find me mentoring young girls with big goals, adopting a family during the holidays, volunteering at soup kitchens, bringing awareness to key issues using my social media platforms, advocating for workplace bullying and connecting people locally and internationally through my community while providing free resources to help them to develop their leadership skills, escape a toxic workplace, find their confidence and own their purpose.
